About Us
brian paradise
Originally from Newport, Rhode Island, company president Brian Paradise grew up in a unique east coast locale known for the America's Cup races, opulent cottages built by the Vanderbilt's, miles of breath taking coastal landscapes, native stone lined pastures leading to the ocean, and important architecture and historical heritage sites incomparable to any other place in the country.

Early in his life, Brian came to an appreciation of garden architecture by being exposed to the work of some of the world's most highly acclaimed landscape architects including Frederick Law Olmstead - the father of American landscape architecture. Olmstead is widely renowned for having perfected the principles of landscape architecture as we know it today.

Encouraged to pursue his natural interests and talents, Brian began to implement these garden architecture principles along with his own ideas into client gardens and gained an increasing amount of recognition for his work. At an early age he gained sole responsibility for the care of several large estates along the coast, including that of the Governor of Rhode Island.

After his early successes, Brian decided to refine his creative abilities through formal coursework in Sculpture (at the University of North Carolina) and Landscape Architecture (at the University of Georgia). Brian S. Paradise Fine Gardens, Inc. was started in Atlanta, Georgia in 1996 and was an instant success with clients throughout the “Buckhead” community.  Brian was invited to participate in several home and garden tours and well recognized national fund raisers - "Celebrations" 1997 and 1998 for the National Council of Jewish Women, “Peachtree Battle”, “Chastain Friends Spring House and Garden Tour” 2000 for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and “The Secret Garden Tour" 2004 (Newport, RI) for the Benefactors of the Arts.

In 2007 Brian decided to expand his business and moved to Charlotte, NC.  His first major installation was in the Plaza-Midwood neighborhood at the historic “2100 The Plaza” property (the large white house on the corner of Plaza and Belvedere).  This complete restoration of the grounds gained tremendous attention and began a ping pong effect through the entire neighborhood as neighbors began to seek out his services. To date, Brian S. Paradise Fine Gardens, Inc. has completed an astounding 150 installations throughout Plaza-Midwood, with additional installations in Dilworth, Myers Park, Eastover, South Park, Ballantyne and Mooresville. A slow drive down Club Road in Plaza-Midwood gives an on-site review of 25 completed projects.

In 2008 several of Brian’s installations were on tour - 1812 Belvedere in The Plaza-Midwood Home & Garden Tour.  1808 Chestnut Ave in The Winghaven Garden Tour in Myers Park, and two properties in the Dilworth Home and Garden Tour, 415 E. Kingston and 2021 Euclid Ave.

Brian S. Paradise Fine Gardens, Inc. offers full landscape installation and maintenance services in all areas of Metro Charlotte and upstate South Carolina. He also provides consultations and installation services in other states and locations by appointment-- please inquire.
